How does a wet to dry hair straightener work? Which is the best brand?

I want to buy a wet to dry hair straightener but I am afraid it will fry my hair... do they work? Can you really straighten your hair while it is wet? Does your hair stay wet or does the iron dry while it is straightening? Can you use it on dry hair also? Which is the best brand?

I don't like the Chi, any other good brands? I have CURLY hair! How does a wet to dry hair straightener work? Which is the best brand?
Well, if you straighten your hair when it is wet, after a while it will become fried and damaged right. And when you have fried and damaged hair, it doesn't retain water well after a shower. So voila you jump out of the shower and within minutes your hair dries on its own and is ready for straightening.

I have found a great new product called Bak * 2 * tha * Rootz. Great product with all natural ingredients. I am in transition going on a year post relaxer but my daughters are natural, and it makes our hair soft and shiney! I found on ebay. Bak2tharootz.com

Yeah. You will fry your hair :-) Get a normal straightener... Here's some advice:

Okay, I have been researching hair straighteners for like 3 weeks straight. You need to decide for yourself but here are the top brands: Sedu and ghd. I know you may have NEVER heard of ';Sedu'; because it is sold exclusively through the world's largest online beauty store. Folica.com

You need to look for one with:

*** Toumaline technology (hair naturally produces positive ions, but toumaline produces extra negative ions and therefore smooths the hair cuticle and means less damage is done)

*** So look for a ceramic (NOT cermaic coated, it has to be all ceramic) plate straightener with Tourmaline infused into the plates.

I e-mailed ghd and they do NOT use toumaline (t-or-ma-line). Also they do not have adjustable heat settings so it remains at a constant high temperature which is NOT good for all hair types.

***So look for adjustable temperature.

*** A good straightener (or ';flat iron';) goes to minimum 200 degrees Celcius.

*** A swivel cord so that it doesn't get tangled and annoy you while straightening.

-I have heard that the brand 'CHI' is VERY BAD, some have CAUGHT on FIRE!! (Seriosuly).

All the best :-) P.s. Im getting a Sedu.
You WILL fry your hair, if you read beauty magazines and other things they say not to use W2D straighteners cause using such high heat on wet hair really fries it and your hair dries out and becomes brittle etc. I wouldn't use one personally. Using a regular hair straightener is better for you in the long run.
i have one

you can use when your hairs damp but it doesn't get as straight or as shiny....your hair still might look a little frizzy or wavy. but you can use it on dry hair they work great. If you get one they have a instruction book that will tell you how it works.

I like them better '; dont use it when your hairs really wet on a high heat';
Well, if you get a cheap one, they will fry your hair, but I have a T3 Tourmaline %26amp; I love it. I wouldn't advise doing it when your hair is soaking wet, but when it's damp, it comes out great.
No they are not all that good! They suck dont buy it, cuz if i have wavy hair try to straighten it with your curly hair that doesn't sound possible! If the Chi didn't do it i dont know what can!
idk. drinking coffee much. too many questions take ur time its like u have been super hyped or cant afford to lose 5 more points.
