I guess the best one for right around $50 I could reccomend as a stylist would be by GVP (Great Value Products) Sallys has specials on them alot which is where you get them They are basically a generic Chi Straightner.

If you use the straightner properly you are going to get a good finished result. Here are some tips to remember.

1. NEVER NEVER STRAIGHTEN WET HAIR

2. PRODUCT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND! THERMAL PROTECTOR IS A MUST. Proclaim makes a pretty good one (its cheap and you can get it at sallys too) it is a little sticky but has a good hold too so it really helps keep the hair straight.

3. Take small sections and make slow passes.

4. The smaller the iron is the more precise it would be I would never reccomend purchasing one over an inch I prefer a 1/2 inch myself.

I personally have a Paul Mitchell straightner i use in the salon everyday and would reccomend it to anyone if you dont mind paying a little more.
I recommend the Wigo as well from Ulta. I have a zebra one. Just to show you what mine looks like...

It's only $30 as well and works wonderfully. I can even straighten coarse and curly hair with it. And don't forget a heat protectant. I good one is ';Control Freak'; by Bed Head.
I think Remington is the best straightener for under $50. I recommend you buy one but the only problem i have found is that it does damage your hair a little bit. Only to my experience it has damaged my hair but thats with every hair straightner.
Well I have conair and it works perfectly fine and my hair is not real good like you can say. My fiancee bought it for me in Rite Aid $20 only. I though it wasn't going to work, but I've had it for 1 year, and still perfectly fine. It has up to 25 for the heat. and even turbo.
I have a Remington and it works really good.

I have a really thin one and it goes up to 430 degrees. But I don't put it so high unless I want really straight hair. My straightener curls my hair as well.

I suggest you get one of those mines cost $30 at target and I love it:)
Jilbere de Paris!! i've been using it for 3 years and it's still brand new! and it works really well and not exensive at all!! not like the brands that claim to be better. go to sally beauty supplies they're like 45 dollars!! :D hope i helped!
conair is good for my hair

dont believe people when they say it sucks because it depends on what hair you have
save ur money and get a sedu professional around 140..they will last you longer and work 100 times better then those cheaper POS!!!
remingtion wet and dry.

its the best.

never use conair.

it sucks.
