You get what you pay for so if you're spending less than 40 dollars on a straightener don't expect it to be amazing. You said you don't shop online but it's really worth your time. My husband bought me a CHI hair straightener new on Ebay for $70, retail value $140 =)

Hmmm, try going to like CVS or Rite-Aid and look for a straightener by the brand ';Hot Tools';. I'd say it works pretty decent :)
