10 points to best answer!!
I have very thick, extremely curly, frizzy, poofy hair. I used to have a ceramic tools 1in straightner but it broke after about 2years, and then I had a Jilbere 1in straightner but it just recently broke after about a year or so. Neither striaghtened my hair that well. It made it straight but after awhile it would go wavy, and no matter what the ends would always curl. I live in a very humid city. So does anybody have any recomendations of what type of straightner I should buy (not over $100) and hair products also. What is a good hair straightener to use?
I have a CHI and I use it daily on clients and myself and I have had mine for a while. Although it is more than $100 it is well worth it. Tip: Use CHI Shine Infusion Spray for extra smoothing effects and a little goes a long way and as a bonus it will protect your hair from the heat of the iron. What is a good hair straightener to use?
the chi is ahmazing
if i had a second choice it would be coriless (spelling??)
I have a solia and it's amazing
i got it off folica.com
it's really good, and if you just want to straighten your hair, then you might want to get the 2'; one
I'm using Solia, and I love it! It's a ceramic iron also, so it doesn't damge your hair as much as regular irons. It used to be expensive, but I think they've just lowered the price to about $70. I've used it for over 2 years, and it's still great. It works well for frizzy and thick hair.
Go to your local discount store and buy the cheapest perm they have .Instead of using perm rods use a wide tooth comb and comb it through for about 15 min. follow the steps on the box and use as you would if you used rods but just dont curl it. When you are finished make sure you use a real good conditioner. The old fashinoned way of taming frizz is to use x-large curlers or empty orange juice cans to rol your hair this also helps to reduce frizz. Lots of shampoo companies now have products that help control frizz like Sunsilk products. If your hair is extra curly it may take another try but you must wit at least two weeks before you straighten it again. If you choose not to chemically straighten your hair you might consider putin highlights in your hair you can do it yourself ... but if your hair is thick and long you may need 2 or three boxes to highlight it properly. This process helps you to control the natural curl in your hair. Good Luck
I use herstyler. Cost the same as Chi but is entirely ceramic and doesn't damage your hair. We have similar hair types so I think it would work for you.

I have hair like that, and I got a Conair straightener that straightens while wet to very straight and doesn't damage my hair at all. Also, straightening hair supplies are good, like Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight. I think it was only about $30 or $40, also.
a chi... they last forever and they work very good... they are about $100 but work very well..... and if you live in a humid city that might be a big problem... it is very hard to have straight hair in humid weather
