Ugh, please don't get the Chi. I mean, it gets your hair straight, but it fries your hair in the process, even with heat protection. If you want the Chi, go with a GVP. Its $60 at Sally Beauty Supply. Its the ';knock off';, but its a lot better. It makes my thick, frizzy, hard to straighten curly hair straight, soft, %26amp; silky.

If you want something cheaper, I'd recommend Remmington. I have the Teflon one %26amp; it works really well and it really doesn't [do as much] damage your hair. :) It got my hair as straight as the Chi does. Remmington straighteners are $25-50.

As for size, I'd go with the 1inch. 2inches is kinda too big. 1.25-1.75inches is a good size for thick %26amp; curly hair. I have two straighteners; one is a 1inch %26amp; the other 1.75.

Just a side note, make sure to use some sort of heat protection. I think a serum would be best, that's what I use. Try John Frieda's Thermal Protection Serum (the yellow one) or IC Fantasia (don't remember the exact name, but the red one). If you're looking for a spray, try Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray (get the Straightening Gel as well. :) The packaging is black w| red lettering) or Dove Thermal Mist (red spray bottle).

Hope I helped %26amp; good luck!

I have had it for over two years, and it works great and is pretty cheap considering how long it will last you and it doesn't damage your hair as much as some..but anytime you use any hot tools on your hair you should use a protector that you spray on your hair before you use the hot tool to protect it from any kind of damage.
Look in Winners for RUST. It's $60 and the temperature is good for your hair. It heats up very fast and doesn't damage your hair as much. But keep in mind that any flat iron WILL damage your hair, so I suggest Got2B Fallen Angel heat protective spray for your hair.

Have fun! :D

Hello ,you can try CHI or GHD hair straighteners, they air really good i have used .will make your hair looks straight and shinier .
do not laugh my fiance has a good one she got at walmart for about 15 bucks its cheap and works good it is a andis multi heat ceramics one.
you can get a vidal sasson one at target for around 20-30$ and then use prof products when straighting it...use the highest heat settings and use some silk infusion serum (chi) all over hair before flat ironing and the as you go spray the thermal spray from chi on to protect...the silk infusion will make the process go by faster and leave it straighter for longer less flyaways and less chance of curing... :)
