Can someone recomend a good hair straightener to me?

I threw out my old hair straightener for two reasons. one because it was time to get a new one and it was broke, and two when i was in the shower a bunch of soap got in my hair and when I whent to straighten it, it got all burnt out and frizzy. Im a guy btw and please do not laugh at this or be rude because of that fact if you do ill ignore you. So once my hair was burnt out i got it trimmed and thinned out hopeing that most of the burnt hairs would be gone. So how can I tell if all the burnt hair are gone before I straighten it? or should I get it cut once more once its long before i start straightening again? my second question is what is a good hair straightner I should look for in my local drug store or at walmart? Ive looked for chis but I cant find a package in the hair section that says chi on it.......Can someone recomend a good hair straightener to me?
Walmart has a GREAT, cheap one ! It's pretty simple, and you can straighten your hair when its wet. It's called Wet Straight Remington. It works fast, and has 30 levels of heat.

Well first of all did your flat iron burn all your hair or just some? I'm also assuming it wasn't a relaxer but a flat iron. If your hair is burnt (on the tips) and you already got it cut, which was a good thing, the only thing you can do is to condition it and keep it moisturized. You should get you ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast you hair grows. You should go to a Sally's beauty supply or another good supply store and look into a chi or an FHI. (check ebay, you can get them there really cheap maybe $30-50. Chi's and FHI's lock in the hairs moisture and doesnt damage it. Also with that get a heat protectant to apply prior to flat ironing the hair just as an extra protection. hope this helps(20 year stylist)

ok so the straightener i use is a revlon that is an inch wide and it is gold on the plates and black everywhere else. i got mine at target and its not expenisve at all. it works just as well as any chi:)





ALSO


to get rid of any burned hair or anything else (plus it gives you nice style control)... is Garnier Fructis leave-in conditioner. its with the sleek and shine stuff and its in a fat green bottel. you can use it in addition to conditioner u use in the shower or without. it works really well and also controls fizz:) plus.... in addition to all that it helps hold the straightness all day long:)

i use one called john paul mitchell pro tools express ion smooth 1.25 ... it works sooooooooo amazing!!!!!! its kinda expensive (about 140$) but its soooooo worth it u need to get one!! there is no downside to it at all!!!!
