Good Hair Straightener?

im looking for a hair straightener that does the least damage to your hair (like burning it, ripping it out, etc.)

i've also heard the CHI is really good, but some people say it also really bad. so whats right and whats wrong?Good Hair Straightener?
Well, i have had my chi for 6 years and never had a problem, but i do find it a bit drying...but it makes my hair perfect. I have also tried T3, and I really like those irons as well. I heard GHD is greatGood Hair Straightener?
i have the ghd. its very good, the straightener is easy to use, and it helps that your not damaging your hair as bad as other Straighteners would. the straightener is expensive but effective, it has ceramic plates. buy it. lol hope it helps. but if your not up for coughing up 250 to 200 dollars depending on if you want the newer version or older version (the newer version can be used all over the world without a converter, and is sleeker) then you should look for a straightener with a ceramic plate. chi, t3, and ghd are the most advertised straightners for their good quality but the key is to look for cermaic plates. hope this helps
I've been using my CHI for years and love it - they are a little expensive but TOTALLY worth it.

Also, I know someone posted that it dries their hair out - they probably just don't use the hair serum that Chi has - put it in your hair after you shower, blow dry and straighten and your hair will not be dry. They also sell flat iron stuff that you spray on each layer before you straighten it like a hair spray. It protects your hair and makes it straighter.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Remington, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap drugstore brands that tend to cause hair damages. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.
