I really want a ceramic wet/dry Straightener, but I don't know which one is right for me!?

I want a ceramic wet/dry straightener that does not really damage my hair. I'm not sure which straightener is right for my hair. I have A LOT of hair that is very heavy. It has some natural wave in it. I need the straightener to be under $30. I have looked at the Revlon RV-088CN Wet to Set 2-1/4 Tourmaline/Ceramic Professional Straightener for Wet/Dry Hair and the Andis 67690 1-Inch Nano-Silver Tourmaline Wet or Dry Ceramic Flat Iron. If you could give me any suggestions and/or review the ones that I have already looked at, that would be very helpful!

Thanks!I really want a ceramic wet/dry Straightener, but I don't know which one is right for me!?
i have a wet2straight remington straightener that i got from walmart which has settings for dry/damp/wet hair. i think it works great %26amp; it is definitely under $30.I really want a ceramic wet/dry Straightener, but I don't know which one is right for me!?
I have a lot of hair too and ive used the small straighteners that aren't very wide like this kind -

-

and they doesn't straighten as well as the wider ones such as this one -

Those wet to dry straighteners don't work very well. It's better to just blow dry your hair or let it air dry before you straighten it.

Conair Instant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener? how does it work?

hey guys i have had this flat iron for like a yr but i never used it properly because some how i burn my hair and it does not come out straight ... it has two buttons one green and one red.. im guessing that u have 2 use these buttons to alternate between wet and dry hair ... does anybody have this type and if so can u help me figure out which button is for what? I would appreciate any help that i can get... To make sure that u guys know which product im tlking about u can look at it on this site: http://www.conair-store.com/product_detail.asp?T1=CON+S3CS%26amp;HDR=HAIR

Thanx alot any help will be appreciated much :-)Conair Instant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener? how does it work?
i would prefer you not to use this because

wet and dry hair straightners tend to not work as well,Conair Instant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener? how does it work?
wet/dry straighteners are not usually good, at all.

get a chi(:
hmmm, wet/dry tend not to work as well

but i really like conair

so i would say yes because conair never did me wrong

Conair Instant Heat 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?

its time for a new hair straightner cause the one i have sucks and is old...now ive been browsing and i found this and its seems pretty good...

so tell me what u think about this product cause i dont wanna buy something that sucks:P

So tell me all about it or if u think theres a better hair straightner than this(has to be under 30 bucks though:D)

I have pretty thick wavy hair and also..Conair Instant Heat 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?
wet dry straightners are never good for your hair after a long time of use it makes your hair dry looking and unheathly sometimes fried!

and dont get a mall straightner get a chi! beacuse mall straightners what they do it it is realy cheaply made and rele not good quility and wont keep ur hair straight. but chi is like 40 bucks a little more then thurty but its worth it i had mine for over 2 yrs and it still works awesome!Conair Instant Heat 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?
wet 2 straight damages your hair so badly!!!

it like fries it

seriously ive seen the product of what it does on my friends hair and she says it works...but if you see her hair it looks like crap and its really damaged.
i've heard that too. its really bad for your hair. get a mall straightener, the kind they demonstrate at the booths at the mall. they're amazing!
Do not get it. I have one and it stinks. If you use it while your hair is wet, it fries your hair. Plus, it wear off really fast. I have one right now and I am looking at buying a CHI
Honestly, wet dry straighteners dont work. they dont dry your hair all the way, so it curls throughout the day. You could get a nice straightener that does dry hair for $40. I promise you its worth it. Its in this montths addition of Seventeen. It called Hot Tools Mini Flat Iron
u shouldnt get it i jave thick black curly hair and i bought it and it didnt even work on wet hair and everyone i no who has it says that if u use it on wet hair it frys it and get super frizzy but if u wanna blow dry ur hair and then use the wet to dry u can and it wil work really well and fast the only down side is that u cant hold the straghtener very well by the other side of the holding side (if that makes sence) to giude ur hair cus it gets rly hot and u will burn ur hand iti s also kind of hevy if ur like me it takes me a while to straighten my hair and if i use a heavy straghtener my hand gets really tired. I do no a rly good straightener but i cant remember wat it is caled. it is black i think 1.5 or 2 inch u can find it at meyer target and even walmart it is 30$ at walmart a bit more at target and meyer i think and it is black. it says something that starts with a R on it and says ';wet2dry'; it works RLY well (not on wet hair tho only dry hair)

How is my wet/dry straightener ruining my hair when the hair isn't even hot?

I got a wet/dry straightener for Christmas and I haven't had this good of a hair day in years. It adds lift to my roots and my hair is poker straight...and it was sopping wet when I used the straightener on it. My question though...how can it be ruining my hair if it's not even hot after I run my fingers through a strand that was just dried/straightened. When I use my CHI on my already dry hair, I can't attempt to touch the hair after because it burns the hell out of my fingers. This though, isn't making my hair hot. So. is it still damaging? My hair feels great...How is my wet/dry straightener ruining my hair when the hair isn't even hot?
I don't think it would be damaging your hair - the only thing I can think of would be the chemicals.

So what is the product? I'd love to find one that works that good! lolHow is my wet/dry straightener ruining my hair when the hair isn't even hot?
When your hair is wet it is more prone to damage and weaker as opposed to when your hair is dry..

Although, if you use a heat protection spray, you'll reduce the damage but not by a lot.. it's still better if you use it on dry hair but hey, it's up to you :)

I used to own a Conair Wet/Dry and the wet feature just left my hair poofy. Hated that.. now I've upgraded to a Sedu 1'; and i'm in love

Merry Christmas!
maybe i had one and i think i did but i think it is better if you wait until it is damp

Conair infiniti wet-dry straightener?

IF you have used it...

How well does it work? What are the pros and cons?

Is your hair wavy, curly, thick, etc?

Is it noisy?

Does your hair have to be wet to use it?

thank you =)Conair infiniti wet-dry straightener?
My hair is naturally curly and I wear it straight. So, after many blow dryer and flat iron mistakes I got an ion blow dryer. It drys my hair faster and isn't damaging. I love mine I got a ';Ion Shine by Conair. It came with attachments; comb, and brushes.Conair infiniti wet-dry straightener?
I have bi-racial hair ((Loose Waves)) and it burned my hair terribly while wet and my cousin burned her hair clean off while using it dry. Im not sure if its my wavy hair but I suggest you don't buy it.
I threw my daughters away - it burnt and damaged her hair so bad it was breaking off everywhere.
I have never used it before, but I have heard it was fabulous.
Dont use that it burns the crap out of your hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!especially since your hair is curly and thick you will ruin it more. it will be more coarse and thick. B careful
I used it and it burn and damaged my hair SOOO bad

I had to chop it all off!

Dont get it!

I like my Bedhead strightner!
from the review i read online...i found out that your hair must only be damp.....***it can not be wet**** its one of those products we all wish we could try before buying...i believe it works but if you think about the concept...it could be damaging if it drys and straightens the hair too fast...that is never healthy....try to google conair because their is a site...where people review nothing but their hair tools and it has videos of people talking and utube does as well...

Instant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?

does the conair Instant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener really work because i am black and have natural hair when it is wet it is in small corkscrew curls and my hair length is to the middle of my back so i want to know if this would work for my hair when it is wet or dry.

thanxx for the helpInstant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?
You must have been growing your

hair for a long time, for it to be that

long,because usually black peoples

hair doesn't grow long, well if you

don't cut it.

Anyways, those straighteners that ';SAY';

they straighten when hair is wet is a lie.

I still actually wouldn't try straightening my

hair with any straightener when my hair is

wet,but that's just me.

I would wait atleast 20-45 minutes

before straightening your hair.

That way you can either let it air dry,

or blow dry it.

Hope I helped- MiMiInstant Heat Ceramic 2'; Wet/Dry Straightener?
Well, ceramic plates are better than metal plates, but you should never use a straightener when your hair is wet. If you do this, it will blister your hair and damage it over time.

Just buy a ceramic one that doesn't dry your hair, or just don't use it on wet hair.
im white, but when i use my wet to dry straightners they dont really get my hair that straight so i just dry my hair and use my other stragihtners nw _x
In my opinion those wet to straight straighteners are a load of bollocks. You can straighten your hair when it's wet with any straighten and you will still get the same result that it singes your hair. It's never a good idea. Get some GHDs they are awesome. Don't use them when your hair is wet though lol unless you are aiming for split ends.
There is this liquid that straightens your hair when you have curly, textured hair like that. But for the straightener, it is better when your hair is dry to use it. When it is wet, it will burn your hair if you use the straightener.
my mom uses a iron LOL... and mostly PorcelainSeies q;)

  • Best Wet/Dry Straightener?

I'm buying a Wet/Dry straightener this week and I was wondering which worked the best. I need it to be fast, easy, and less than $90. I have blonde to dirty blonde, wavy, thin hair. I was looking at the Solia Tourmaline on Follica and it looked pretty good. If you have it, do you like it? Does anyone also know of any other wet/dry straighteners that work really well, don't damage hair, hold the straightening for the whole day, and are under $90?Best Wet/Dry Straightener?
well it depends what kind of hair you have but

i have the chi and i have like really really curly hair so i straighten mine every morning and it works really good i recommend that you buy it from ebay because the chi can be a little pricey.

but i found mine brand new on there only 56.50! great price

but back to the straightener it works really well and im loving it.Best Wet/Dry Straightener?
less than 90 you won't find if you want it to be quality

wet/dry straighteners no matter which one you use will put a lot of damage on your hair

    A LOT

    so good luck with that...
I would recommend the Chi wet to dry, it's awesome.
i have 1 from target that 20 it works really good
i got my wet/dry straightener for kohls. its called wet2straight and it works great! i think it was around 20-35 dollars

The Infiniti Conair tourmaline ceramic wet dry straightener..?

should i buy it? i know Conair is not the best heat styling tool brand, but i have easy-to-straighten hair and i dont heat style it often. it is already straight, but i have volume.

did it work for you if you used it?The Infiniti Conair tourmaline ceramic wet dry straightener..?
Mine worked for me before it quit working! i would say save your money and buy a better quality (and yes, more expensive) one. But I would recomment buying one that's wet/dry! I really liked that part of it!The Infiniti Conair tourmaline ceramic wet dry straightener..?
    yes its okay

    it still works

    i have 1

    and it works well
The wet/dry products sound good but they still do cause the same amount of damage, as would blowdrying and then straightening.

They are also more likely to short out. I have had 3 personal clients straighteners and curling irons (wet/dry) go up in the process of using it and it burnt their hair off.

This can happen with any product that you use to plug in to an outlet. Make sure that if it smells funny you un-plug it and stop using it. Nothing should start to smell strange. This usually means that it is not safe to use.

I love my Hot Tools ceramic iron I wash my hair at night let it dry when I get up in the morning then I straighten my hair, after I use a shine product for thermal heat (blowdryer curling iron etc.) More expensive doesn't always mean better sometimes you are just paying for a name. We purchased a wet/dry iron for my salon (dont remember the brand) but,I didn't like it and we paid almost 250 for it

    Wet/Dry Straightener?

i have a wet/dry straightener and i've heard that they fry ur hair. Does it still fry your hair if you use the regular setting when your hair is dry because i don't really use it when its wet. I have Conair Pin Straight or something like that so could you tell me if u like it ( if you have it)Wet/Dry Straightener?
you absolutely should NOT flat iron your hair wet, but to protect your hair from it while its dry (which should be perfectly fine) you should get a protecting spray or a serum to put in while its still wet and let it dry in there!Wet/Dry Straightener?
the instyler works great and is only $86 on QVC.com

but if money is no object this one works 10 times beter than the CHI Straightening hair will never be as luxurious again once you use these limited edition Models 1 Diamond Straighteners. Embedded with six Dutch rose cut diamonds and set in 18 carat yellow and white gold they retail for a cool $17,575 at London鈥檚 Selfridges.Works great I use it every day !
I'm not sure when it's dry if it does, but if you don't straighten your hair too often and use good hair protection like putting on a serum before you do so. Then it shouldn't do a great deal of harm
i dont have that one specifically but i do have a wet/dry straightener. i dont have any problems with it, but i never use it when my hair is wet.
Putting that much heat on your hair while its wet is the WORST thing you can do to your hair!! Your hair needs to be DRY! this is going to kill your hair!
I have the wet 2 straight. And they probably do fry your hair but they make your hair very straight so its sort of pick your posion.
yea ive used one it doesnt fry ur hair but on some people it makes there hair look really dry but there are hair products that u put in ur hair b4 to help ur hair stay stronger and stuff
Only straighten it when ur hair is dry and thanks for the 2 points
No it dosen't fry your hair when dry. But DON'T USE ON WET HAIR! Even though it says it is safe don't take the chances.
i like it but looooooove the instyler

    The best wet/dry straightener?

i have really curly hair, and i am tired of blowdrying my hair and then straighting it. i just want to straighten it and not have to blow dry it. so.. does anyone know of any good wet/dry straighteners that are around 25-50 bucks? The best wet/dry straightener?
Remington wet to straight. i have one, and you can get it in different sizes. they're frm 24.99 - 29.99 @ walmart. (or it might be 26.99 for the second one. idk, but great price regardless!)The best wet/dry straightener?
Don't use Remington, I have your same hair type. Don't us e that, don't use conair. Don't use chi. They don't work. Trust me. Use this

    http://www.amazon.com/Solia-Professional/a>

and use bedhead level 2 or 3 control freak serum

Your hair will come out smooth (if you use a wide tooth comb and go through it like that as you straighten it

I have this one and I use it btwn the 370 and 450 settings like right in the middle but I only straighten it when I wash my hair (please dont more than every 3 days, your hair will end up rreally damaged)

Before you wash your hair, put some olive oil in your hair an brush it through. Leave it for 30 minutes at least. Wash your hair as usual it acts as a deep conditioner.

Enjoy your smooth and sleek hair!

    --Cat
I know theirs a conair one that blow drys and straightens your hair at the same time, i saw it on tv and i saw it at clairs once, it was around 30 bucks then but that was almost a year ago, go check the conair website

i dont have that one but every other con air straighter i bought NEVER worked!! con air has the crappest straighters EVER!!

Whats a good wet-dry straightener that is under $50?

I don't suggest using those. No matter what, it's never good to put a flat iron to wet hair. It'll be very damaging.Whats a good wet-dry straightener that is under $50?
i got one for about $27 at walmart wet to straight conair i think it is..it has heat settings but it takes FOREVER to get your hair dry and the steam burns your hands, but you can keep it on low setting thats what i do, my advice stick with a dry hair one!!!

Whats a good wet-dry straightener that is under $50?
    conair
There are none (none that you would be happy with anyway). The best one is the T3 Tourlamine for $200 and you can find it at Sephora.com and Drugstore.com. Good luck on your search.
well the ones that they sell at savon-drugs store for like 25-30$ mine works really good.....
you can find some at walmart or target. they're just as good.... but i agree with the other ppl, if u want a really good one and can afford it- get the T3 at sephora.
    Conair @ CVS.

Does the Conair Wet-Dry Straightener ruin your hair??

I just got it yesterday, but I happened to read some thing about it today, about it ruining some people's hair, and then they had to cut if off...so now I'm scared to use it! Does anyone else on here have the same straightener, and how does it work for you??Does the Conair Wet-Dry Straightener ruin your hair??
Ive got a remington wet-to-dry, and honestly, its still unsafe to use on wet hair. All straightenners wreck your hair, no matter what. Always have dry hair, even 99% dry i better than damp before straightenning. Just in case, use a protectant spray or cream to protect your hair from damage, like KMS spray out. Yes it dries you hair, makes it wet to straight... but it damages it for worse. Of course use it! Its still an ordinary straightenner, all straightenners wreck your hair, but as long as you use some sort of protectant, your hair will be shining straight as often as you want.

USE IT! It works fine, just avoid using it on wet hair, thats all, even if it does work.Does the Conair Wet-Dry Straightener ruin your hair??
yes but normal hair straightners ruin it 2 but not that much

its easier just 2 blowdry it then straighting it
Yes, all wet-to-dry straighteners do! Use it only on dry/dried hair.

Wats the best wet dry straightener?

i have thick wavy hair and i hate blowdrying it. i need a fairly cheep but good wet dry straightener. i was looking at the bc173...does any1 have it?

    remington wet 2 straight

fantastic, doesn't make your hair frizzy, and also makes it very shiny, and its relatively cheap now as it came out about 4 years ago
um i think the chi wet to dry hair straightener its kinda expensive bt itsthe best one.
    Babyliss.
I use the remmington wet to dry.... I love it! it works great... it dries it like you used a blow dryer but w/o the frizz

I have a Remington wet/dry straightener. My hair is always fried and never stays straight any suggestions?

i DON'T straighten my hair when it is wet I Blow Dry it

the straightening balm is Beyond the Zone's Straight Shot.

i have very thick hair.I have a Remington wet/dry straightener. My hair is always fried and never stays straight any suggestions?
it could be that you just have a lot of dead ends and your hair just need a break from the straightner!! I usually have a trim every 3 months to keep my hair really healthy look, also, when getting out of the shower NEVER brush your hair. Use a thick tooth comb so comb it out and get rid of the tangles ..you know when you brush your hair and it sounds like elactic bands snapping? that's your hair breaking off which cause lots of fly aways and split ends which make your hair even look more fried!! Try using salon shampoo and if you have a weekend of just being lazy and staying how then let your hair air dry and give it a nice break!!I have a Remington wet/dry straightener. My hair is always fried and never stays straight any suggestions?
    Hi there,

I understand your problem. I also have thick hair and it's taken me literally two years to find the perfect straighteners!

I would say the reason that your hair doesn't stay straight is because either your straighteners aren't good enough for your thick locks or that you need to straighten your hair in layers. I would suggest trying the layers first and then maybe looking into some new straighteners if you want them that much. I use GHDs and although they are expensive, work a treat!

And due to your frazzled hair, I suggest that you use a heat defence shampoo and conditioner, followed by a heat defence serum to really protect your hair before you blow dry and straighten it, Also, give your hair a break! Straightening your hair every day is extremely bad for it, and it often needs a rest.

    I hope this helps!

    Rosie =]
i have the exact same problem. best straightener i ever found was the ghd one, its very expensive but it works the best, i promise - i have tried a few! wet to dry i tried, no good at all - it made it frizzier! their heat protector spray is good too you can get it in salons. i have also found that a conditioner from the shop Lush called Retread, is very very good. and its old fashioned but ther is a little tube of serum type stuff called vitapointe that is super cheap that you run through the ends of your hair etc, it calms it and reduces frizz. you use it when your hair is dry, any time. you can get tit in boots and tesco. last tip - i have over last few years had my hair chemicaly straightened at an afro carribean hairdressers, they have straighteners that suit european hair too, which is me - i am just a frizzy brunette but this is like a reverse perm and it make s your hair poker straight then you just get your roots done as and when. i tend to just have that done in teh summer when humidity gets to my hair or if on holiday with lots of swimming cos its good to give it a rest from the chemicals occasionally but then you dont have to fear rain or anything, your hair gets wet, it dries straight all by itself. its like a miracle honestly, you feel released from the endless straighhtening! you just have to keep your hair in good condition, thats all, lots of conditioner and its fine, ive had no problems except a few split ends but a regular trim deals with that.again its expensive well to me it is, maybe 拢65 first time, 拢35 for roots but its worth every penny when you suffer like we do! good luck! oh - one last thing, john frieda do a new range called weather protect or something that helpd reduce frizz in the damp - i am going to try that soon and maybe you could too, it looks good. their frizz ease range is excellent.
it's probably not a good straightening iron. i have thick curly hair, and i use a chi turbo straightner.it's kinda expensive (about $120), but it's really good! it's also cermamic, which is better for your hair than regular straightners.
I have thick hair and I find that Babyliss straighteners are the best, they make it look like I have thin her and are as good as ghds, also a 1/4 of the price. Don't waste your time on the remington ones.
I use the same one, but I have relaxed hair that is straight anyway. I have thick, textured hair, and the flat iron doesn't even keep that part straight.

    Try a new flat iron.
Try a different straightener. Also try a heat protector spray. I use FX Special Effects Heat Protector. Make sure you use really good shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair healthy.
Its because Remington SUCKS on thick hair.

No matter how hot you turn it up, it won't stay straight.

    Get a better flat iron
I have one of those too and they are crap straighteners. Get an ION or a ceramic straightener and you will end up with straiter hair faster.

  • Who makes the best wet & dry straighteners?

no matter the price.Who makes the best wet %26amp; dry straighteners?
You shouldn't straighten your hair wet, no matter what the best brand is. IT is NOT good for your hair.

But the best normal straightener brand is probably Chi. Or I've heard Bed Head is good?Who makes the best wet %26amp; dry straighteners?
chi's are really nice high quality straighteners. i got one 2 weeks ago and saw the same exact one at the salon. the cost from between $80-$130...but i heard wet straighteners can fry your hair really easy, so it's best to get a normal dry one.
Well,I don't have a ';high end'; straightener, but it works REALLY well, it's a thick one(but you can also get it skinny if you want) and the brand is wet2straight
Global beauty hair straightners are good. I have one for dry hair and it cost me about $100.

Folica Beauty Supply is an online store with a great variety of different types of hair straightners from many brands. They have reviews on each product and a top 10. You might want to check that out and find one that suits you.

    Do wet-dry straighteners work?

I've heard from my cousin that they do work, but I wanted more opinions on them.

    1) Are they actually worth the money? Because I already have a regular straightener and I'm not sure if I should spend the money on a new one.

    2) Do they burn your hair?

    Thanks, :)Do wet-dry straighteners work?
i have one and i dont like it that much because its like a really big paddle and i like thinner ones.. but they dont really dry your hair and straighten at the same time. all you do is keep running it through untill your hair is dry THEN it will straighten

plus it kind of burns and sizzles which is a rly gross soundDo wet-dry straighteners work?
dont get one! straightening your hair is bad enough as it is.. but i do it too.. but my point being that your hair should be completely dry before straightening it. trust me, i was obsessed with straighteners/hair for like a whole year and ive researched all this stuff.

straightening it when its wet is like completely frying your hair.. its the worst thing you can do to it.. it makes a noise and sometimes drips water which is a sign that its awful. my professional hair stylist uses one sometimes and she said the only reason why is only because its quick. its really bad for your hair.

if youre getting it because you want to spend less time or something.. then just buy a professional straightener like a chi or a ghd.

    goodluck!
okayyyy.... they TOTALLY burn your hair if you actually use the feature of the wet to dry concept. when you straighten your hair when its totally soked its either going to clump together or look very frizzy along with being dried up, burned, and weak.

however, these straighteners are very useful when your blowdry your hair and some of your hair is still a little damp. when this is the case they tend to make your hair very soft, silky, and shiney.

so it all depends on what function you want regarding whether or not you should spend money on a new straightener.
I purchased a wet/dry straightener not too long ago and yes, it did work for me. The only problem I had was when my hair was wet, I had to keep going over the strand a few times before it was completely dry and straight. They won't fry your hair anymore than a normal straightener would, in fact, I saw my hair more shiny and soft when I straightened it when wet Although it worked OK for me, I wouldnt recommend buying one if you already have a normal straightener.

    Good Luck!
its definitely not worth the money. i got one and it burned my hair so bad and it make it look very frizzy. my recommendation is not to by one. it damages like crazy.
yes they do work, but not as well as other straighteners because they fry your hair like NO OTHER! if you straighten your hair when it's wet, but if you don't straighten it when its wet it will work decently good.
they are really worth the money to buy i mean i had one and it is bad for hair if you straighten wet.

p.s. they really burn your hair
    DO NOT GET THAT !

yes they work, but its really, really BAD to straighten your hair wet, it burns it.
