What's a good hair straightener/flat iron for thick, coarse hair?

My hair is SO thick and coarse. It takes about an hour or two to straighten my hair...When my sister did it, it only took about 20 minutes though. I'm not sure what kind she has though. She lives in Illinois so obviously I can't ask her to do my hair everyday. My mom refuses to buy more(We used to have like 5 or 6). So I have to buy my own...What's a good flat iron/straightener for thick, coarse hair, but also cheap(No more than 40 dollars)? What's a good hair straightener/flat iron for thick, coarse hair?

If you want a really good straightener you're gonna have to spend more than $40 on it! I have thick hair and it used to take me about an hour to straighten my hair. I then bought a Corioliss at a kiosk in the mall. It's supposed to be $200, but I bartered with them for a while... Anyways, I love it! It only takes me about 20 minutes to do my hair now and that's when I'm taking my time! Highly recommend it!
I have hair that is a thick as a freaking mop lol so I got one of the straighteners u can use when ur hair is wet.... what u do i let ur hair dry until it is a little damp after a shower and put some straightening product in it.... i personally like hang straight from aveda. Then straighten after putting in the product (make sure ur hair is still damp because if its not this wont work as well) and put some anti frizz product in it when ur done... id do this maybe only three or two time a week otherwise u will destroy ur hair... hope this helped!!
a really big expensive one. i have one but sorry i forget what its called lol

it came in a rainbow box and it's blue.

uhmm yeah make sure to use serum before you straighten so that your hair actually straightens and doesn't become more coarse!
a thin flat iron that is smooth and wont damage ur hair. they sell it at the stands in the mall. even through there 80 bucks its worth it. i have one and my hair is smooth and shinny and healthy now. so risk more money now and get awesome hair down the line.
for 40 bucks ur not gonna find one. if u decide to spend some more go to folica.com and search solia flatirons they have before and after pics. that iron is very good i use it even tho i dont have coarse hair but i lower the temp.
Well how long is your hair?

I use this one http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9605652 and I think it works really well, even when my hair was still down to my waist.

Hope that helps. :]
maybe instead of buying a whole new straightner you can splurge a lil on some straightening products that can also be heat safe so your hair wont get fried
Het one with ion technology or a ceramic one. Also, the bigger the flat iron, the better..
ceramic tools by jilbere de paris ! its awsoome and its 20 dollars at sallys beauty supply =) cant leave without it
No hair straightener that costs less than 40 dollars is going to appropriately straighten your hair. save up for a CHI
a hai straightener they work like magic make sure its the one with the blue ceramic
GHD
Sedu or Hai
CHI
Under $40 I don't think you'll find one that works very well.
