What you can do (if you have reasonably soft hair) is that you can wash it and then condition it. After washing out the conditioner use a tight fitting shower cap or a swim cap to let you hair stay plastered to your head. Then with the shower cap or swimming cap on, blow dry your hair until it's dry to your liking. After that take off the shower cap or swimming cap and comb or brush it out. If it still isn't straight use a styling iron and gently brush it out while using the iron.
I have extremely thick, curly, and frizzy hair, and the only one that works for me is the maxiglide. They use to have infomercials on it all of the time. And it works wonders.
chi is my favorite, but it is kinda expensive
