A good hair straightener for curly, thick hair?

ok well my hair straightener is a $30 conair from wal mart, and it works ok, but its really not the greatest.

my ends barely ever straighten, plus it takes a while.

what i need is a really good straightener for possibly under $100.

i was thinking chi or t3 cuz u can get them new on ebay for around $75, but which brand is the best?

i heard that t3 isn't ceramic and its tourmaline, which is supposedly better.

i dont know though.....oh yeah and if it comes in pretty colors that helps too!!! [mine is red and black....bulldogs! ugh....]

so can sum1 help me out here plz?

thanks [=A good hair straightener for curly, thick hair?
I do not know which brand is best. I have tired a chi and it worked. Sedu is good too supposedly. But they're going to be upwards of 100 dollars. Straightening is really a short terms solution though...

Why don't you try wearing your hair naturally? It way easier and lesss expensive. Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush, only a comb, or better yet fingers, when wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or tshirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

For specific products for your hair type you might want to explore the forums at:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. So that鈥檚 really useful.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. The T3 Glow is Ceramic and Tourmaline! Sally Beauty has them really cheap.

The GVP (compare to Chi) flat iron is Ceramic and it comes in alot of colors. It's only $59. I have one and it work great!

Definitely get GHDs.I also have think curly hair, and I'd tried so many straighteners before GHDs and they never worked. Now I've got GHDs they are a LIFESAVER!It takes me about 20 minutes to straighten my hair, while it used to take me over an hour with normal straighteners.

Hope I've helped a bit. (:
try the chi. My hair is really wavy and I use a revlon one I got at kohls (i think it was 30 or 40, maybe 50 bucks) but I do have to straighten my hair by layers, but it works fine for me.
I hear the CHI-tah is good. http://www.compare-ghds.co.uk/images/sup/a>
go down to your local hairdressing wholesalers and pick upa pair their better than the ones you buy in stores and their salon quality
well dont go on ebay cause then it might not work or be a really cheap quailty

get a chi, thats what i have but i have natural straight hair so idk
i have thick curly hair also and i use a chi it is amazing
