I'm 13 and my hair is SUPER THICK and POOFY. But the one I have now just doesn't seem to work; I have to keep on re-straightening every 5 minutes, and the sides curve out. I need to be able to buy it from a store, like Target or CVS. NOT ONLINE. $30 or less, plz. And here's a pic, if it helps.
When I straighten it and it's still not that straight:

I have the exact same hair type, hun. I know the feeling.
I wish i could point you to a cheap fix, but i cant find you a decent hair straightener for under 30$. It is best for you to save up. It will save you from frustrating hair dilemmas, work well, and last a long time.
Get one that is ionic and ceramic.
And you are very pretty, btw. :-)Good hair straightener for $30 or under?
Your hair looks gorgeous and natural when you straighten your hair! I would keep using the one you have!
But if you want a new technique, try blow-drying your hair straight. I know, you've probably tried this before and had no luck, right? Try spending the $30 that you were going to on a straightener that could damage your hair on styling tools.
Two products that I would recommend are Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion for no frizzies, and Algin 12 Ultra-Straight Balm for protected, sleek, straight hair. These products are both made by Redken and each cost $10-15 but last very long, and produce amazing results. Its not definite that you can find them at Target or CVS, but they are definitely sold at your salon or a speciality beauty store (there are lots of these in your local mall I'm sure) Another substitute brand is Nexxus, it also delivers incredible results.
Hope this helps and Happy Straightening :]
I promise you, you won't find a GOOD hair straightener for that price. I got one by Iso that goes up to 200C, and it's ceramic and light-weight, so it's very good. It's usually $200, but I got it for $100. But they do have other flat irons meant for thicker hair that go up to like 400C. They're just not going to be cheap. You don't want a cheap flat iron, though, because you'll damage your hair. Stick to ceramic and ionic products. The more expensive ones last longer, anyway.
Go to Sally Beauty Supply (or order online) %26amp; buy the Helen of Troy gold series flat iron. It is 170 watts %26amp; it has a dial for the temperature. It works like magic. Its just asgood as a ceramic iron %26amp; much cheaper. It is under $30. When I bought it it was way more mony but then the new craze was ceramic so the price dropped. Anything at CVS is not good enough. I swear you'll love it. Also when you are done straightening, put a drop of hair serum in your hands, rub together %26amp; rub on your ends, it will make it shine. :)

I also have thick frizzy, wavy/curly hair. The only one I can find that completely flattens my hair is a wet 2 straightener. You're hair has to be wet for it to straighten it extremely well. I hope this helps. It was about $28 pluss tax at Wal-Mart
Buy some straighting gel and put it in you hair while it drys. Dont blow dry it! Buy a flat iron. It will take you a while to get it all done. When you have it all straight then finish with hair spray. Freeze It hair spray works realy good.

You can get this at Wal-Mart. It is about $15 and I live by it!!! I have very thick and wavy hair and it works wonders. Hope you choose this one. You will be glad that you did!!
I've been using the Vidal Sassoon Gold straightner for awhile now and it works really welll. I bought it at target for only $20. Personally i don't trust the conair ones because they never work for me but hey try it.
conair has the best cheap straighteners
but I like your hair the way it is after you straighten it cause it has a cute wave and nice volume to it instead of being stick straight and flat like everyone else
it looks straight to me, but if u want it really str8 get sum pantene or garnier fructis starightening shampoo and conditioning first then buy one of those ceramic str8ers
your hair isnt that poofy... and theres no such thing as a really good straightener for under 30 bucks the aveda ones are good but idk how much they are....... ask for one for your birthday or something so you dont have to buy one.
CVS you can get the conair one.
i have one by andies but what products do you use? try a anti frizz seurm if you don't already use it.
2 rocks
conair is good brand to buy they have flat irons for $25 at target.
Good luck.
walmart has them for 15 dollars the good ones are 20 dollars
